Easton Man Busted On Drug Charges After Trying To Flee Traffic Stop
WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport police have arrested a 24-year-old resident of Easton on drug charges after an incident on Myrtle Avenue, authorities said.
The arrest came about during a traffic stop on Tuesday, Nov. 15, around 2:40 a.m., according to police.
As the driver, identified as Cavan Devine, was looking for the vehicle’s paperwork, an officer on the scene noticed a glass pipe – the kind routinely used to smoke illegal narcotics – in plain view, police said.

Stamford Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Gun Charge
STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 34-year-old resident of Stamford pleaded guilty Thursday in New Haven federal court to one count of possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon, authorities said.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on Dec. 29, 2015, Stamford police stopped a car driven by the defendant, Charles Barnes.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a Berretta 9mm pistol loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition, which was found in the glove box, along with 16 bags of marijuana packaged for sale, prosecutors said.

Fairfield Museum Brings Back 'Pie Night' Thanksgiving Tradition
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield Museum and History Center is hosting “Pie Night,” a Thanksgiving tradition dating back to the 1800s, on Friday, Nov. 18, from 6-8 p.m. at the historic Ogden House, 1520 Bronson Road.
Two hundred years ago, Fairfield had its own special way of celebrating Thanksgiving.
One evening around the holiday was designated as Pie Night, a social event when people walked from house to house on the Old Post Road and Mill Plain Green.
