HACKENSACK, N.J. — The Hackensack Junior Basketball League finished another successful season this weekend.
The team distributed more than 80 backpacks that they purchased to student middle school athletes and individual trophies to the winners and runner ups.
"The Junior Basketball League is a staple in Hackensack athletics," said Deputy Mayor David Sims.
"The League teaches young athletes about the importance of hard work and dedication, it also teaches the participants valuable life skills."
Sims thanked the volunteers, coaches and those who donated to make this year another successful one.
