HOW YOU CAN HELP: A GoFundMe account has been established to help with medical expenses for a popular Bergen County paramedic who was severely injured in a skydiving accident over the weekend.
Brian Moriarty, a 30-year-old skydiving enthusiast from Jersey City, was in critical but stable condition at Westchester County Medical Center. A series of medical procedures now follows.
Moriarty is a paramedic at HackensackUMC and with Atlantic Health.
A tactical paramedic assigned to the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team, Moriarty is a graduate of the St. Vincent’s paramedic program and recently obtained his bachelors degree at Montclair State University. He formerly was with Jersey City Medical Center.
“We are asking for donations to help with the extensive medical bills that Brian will incur,” close friend Joe De Servio wrote on the GoFundMe page . “At this time we ask that you keep Brian in you thoughts and prayers and the family requests no visitors for the moment. We thank you for any contributions that can be made, and will provide updates when they are available.”
