YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 13-year-old Wyckoff boy caused nearly $7,000 worth of damage to a local school earlier this month — prying swipe card access readers off six doors, tearing 93 window screens, destroying a door handle and severing supports for a memorial tree, police said this afternoon.
Detectives filed a delinquency complaint against the youth today, charging him with criminal mischief, Police Chief Benjamin C. Fox said.
Eisenhower Middle School officials reported the damage on Jan. 5.
Police using surveillance video identified their suspect, Fox said.
He was released to his parents pending a hearing in the Family Part of Superior Court in Hackensack.
