ONLY ON CVP: A grand jury in Hackensack indicted a Nanuet man this week on charges of running a house of prostitution on a tree-lined Paramus street just off Route 4.
Neighbors and social media ads led Paramus police and members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigation Squad to the North Farview Avenue home in late August.
They arrested 26-year-old Feng Qun Liu on prostitution charges and Mei Zhi Zheng, 37, for promoting prostitution and hindering.
“Hot Asian waiting for you. Grand opening,” read one ad that police found after residents reported strange cars coming and going.
Posing as johns, local and county detectives were offered sex for up to $160 an hour, Deputy Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.
Liu was released on a disorderly persons summons pending a Municipal Court hearing.
Zheng immediately posted $25,000 bail and was released from the Bergen County Jail.
The grand jury indictment returned on Wednesday charges him with “knowingly promot[ing] the prostitution of Feng Q. Liu by: owning, controlling, managing, supervising or otherwise keeping — a house of prostitution or a prostitution business” at 12 North Fairview Avenue.
It also says he “transported or possessed $2,017.00 a reasonable person would believe was derived from criminal activity.”
