Prosecutor: 2 Neighbors Dead In Hackensack Murder-Suicide

HACKENSACK, N.J. — Two Hackensack men in their 60s were found dead at the apartment building where they both lived on Linden Street Sunday morning, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said at a press conference.

Hackensack police arrived to The Hampton at 9:30 a.m., after a 911 caller reported that a man was dead in the lobby with gunshots wounds and his alleged killer was in the parking lot, the prosecutor said.

Police found a 66-year-old man dead in the lobby with multiple gunshots wounds, and a 63-year-old man dead in a car in the rear parking lot with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshots wound in his head, according to Grewal.

The two were involved in a long-running dispute, and seven calls had been placed to Hackensack police since January regarding complains they had with each other, the prosecutor said.

"It's an unfortunate culmination to a long-running dispute between two residents," Grewal said.
