HACKENSACK, N.J. – A nurse’s aide from Port Jervis who volunteered on the local ambulance corps was arrested Wednesday on stalking, cyber-harassment and impersonation charges, authorities said.
Jennifer L. Moore, 33, who authorities said is married, was arrested in her hometown, processed and released pending a March 7 first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said.
Detectives from Calo’s Cyber Crimes Unit conducted a months-long investigation “concerning a pattern of e-mail messages and text messages sent to a 38-year-old victim,” the prosecutor said.
They found that Moore “used the Internet to create multiple e-mail accounts and temporary phone numbers to send dozens of alarming and harassing e-mail and text messages, which were designed to appear as if the sender was someone else.”
Calo thanked Port Jervis police for their assistance.
