Totowa Cupcake King Keith Jaret Dies

TOTOWA, N.J. -- Keith Jaret, the co-owner of Totowa's Jarets Stuffed Cupcakes died at home in Nutley surrounded by family on Feb. 8. He was 62 years old.

Jaret was born in Huntington, Long Island, and lived in Bellleville before moving to Nutley 17 years ago. 

 He was the owner and chef of Jaret’s Stuffed Cupcakes for nearly a decade.

Previously he was the owner/chef of the Petite Café in Nutley. 

Jaret was a 1980 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, N.Y.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years and business partner Maureen (nee Ruane) Jaret; his children including their beloved daughter Megan, Justin Jaret and his wife Alejandra, Kellie Jaret, Tricia Steinhoff, her children; his loving siblings Joseph Jaret, Randy Jaret, Rory Jaret, Jamie Jaret and Laura Jaret Della Porta; and his grandchildren Talia and Riley Jaret.  

Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley on Feb. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m.
