SOUTH HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Salvatrice Cassarino Di Martino, of South Hackensack, died on Tuesday, Sept. 27. She was 67.
Born in Italy, Di Martino came to the United States in 1969, settling in Hackensack. She lived in South Hackensack for 25 years.
Before she retired, she was a crossing guard for the City of Hackensack for more than 15 years. Previously, she was a dress designer for children's clothing.
Di Martino is survived by her husband, Salvatore Di Martino; children Ross Di Martino and his wife Sarah, Enza Giambertone and her husband Greg, and Rosaly Oliveri and her husband Raffaele; and grandchildren Lilia, Jake, Marco, Antonio, Joseph and Salvatore.
She is also survived by her mother, Rosalia Mandara, and her siblings, Carmelo Cassarino and his wife Giuseppina, and Franca Abruzzese and her husband Claudio.
Di Martino was predeceased by her father, Angelo Cassarino.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, at G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union St., in Hackensack. The funeral will be at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, from the funeral home. A mass will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Episcopal Church, 72 Lodi St., in Hackensack, with entombment following at St. Mary's Cemetery, in Saddle Brook.
