Philip E. Sikora, 91, Former Rochelle Park Resident

PARAMUS, N.J. -- Philip E. Sikora, of Paramus, died on Friday, March 24. He was 91.

Born in Wallington and raised in Passaic and Rochelle Park, Sikora lived in Saddle Brook before moving to Paramus. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 170 in Rochelle Park. 

He enjoyed fishing and trips to Atlantic City. Before he retired, he owned and operated Sikora's Religious Articles in Passaic.

Sikora is survived by his children, Philip Sikora and his wife Nancy, and Maryanne Shapiro and her husband Daniel; son-in-law Robert; grandchildren Kimberly, Emily, Orson, Glenn, Michael, Marina, Rachel, Jonathan and Murray; siblings Joan Tozzo and Claire Freemyer; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his wife, Juliet (Hughes) Sikora; daughter Dorothy; and siblings Mary Brown and Edward Sikora. 

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 27, at Church of the Annunciation, 50 W. Midland Ave., in Paramus. Interment will follow, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Saddle Brook. Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, in Fair Lawn, is assisting with arrangements.
