Edward Malin was first diagnosed with leukemia at age 4 and “has fought harder in his life than a child should ever have to,” states a GoFundMe page created to raise money for the 17-year-old’s care.

“With a vengeance, leukemia has come back once more,” the page states.

Edward “has undergone numerous experimental treatments. But, to no avail, the most recent treatment has failed,” the page states.

According to the page, Edward is preparing to leave the hospital to be cared for at home, but the cost of home nursing care “is out of reach for Edward’s family.”

More than $6,000 had been raised for Edward’s care by Thursday.
