The affected area is near the Palazzone Restaurant, at 190 Route 23 South, Wayne Police Captain Laurence W. Martin told Daily Voice.

Motorists traveling northbound on Route 23 from Little Falls are being diverted onto North Leg Road to access Route 46 East, and are entering Route 46 East from the North Leg Road at the Willowbrook Mall marquee, Martin said.

Motorists traveling eastbound on Route 46 attempting to access Route 23 South cannot and are being diverted back onto Route 46, while the access ramp to Route 23 South is closed, he said.

The road will remain closed while utility workers attempt to fix the downed poles, wires and transformers, and motorists should plan accordingly to avoid the area and expect major delays, he said.
