Hackensack Officials Honor Pee Wee Players

HACKENSACK, N.J. — A bunch of pint-sized athletes were honored by Hackensack Mayor and Council this week.

The Hackensack Pee Wee Football Team was honored at the city council meeting Tuesday.

The Hackensack Pee Wee Football team went 11-0 this season, earning them recognition from city officials.

Mayor John Labrosse and Councilman David Sims presented certificates to each of the team's coaches and players honoring them for their accomplishments.

"Hackensack's Pee Wee Football program is incredibly important and we are all so proud of the young men and their coaches who made this dream season possible," Labrosse said.

"Football teaches discipline, helps kids develop their bodies and keeps them off the street and out of trouble. 

"Our administration has made a strong commitment to improving and expanding Recreation programs because we know how important they are to our children's and our city's future."
