MAYWOOD, N.J. -- Seventh-graders from Maywood Avenue School visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art Monday, May 23 and Wednesday, May 25.
Students viewed art work with their teachers. They have been learning about a variety of artists and styles in art class since fourth grade with art teacher Genecie Azzollini.
Students were amazed and could not believe it was "real" Van Gogh and Monet art work. They were all engaged and enjoyed every moment even at the new fashion exhibit, "Manus and Machina," which was about fashion pieces that were made by hand and machine: Fashion technology inspired by high-fashion couture.
Students also ate lunch in Central Park and walked to the Belvedere Castle in Central Park. This class trip has been a tradition the last six years.
