Bergen County Universities Place High In U.S. News College Rankings

Some of the best colleges and universities are right here in Bergen County, according to the 2018 list of the best colleges in New Jersey by USnews.com.

Ramapo College: No. 37 in the northern region. Its in-state tuition and fees are $14,080 (2017-18); out-of-state tuition and fees are $23,214 (2017-18). Besides academics, Ramapo students can get involved on campus by joining more than 100 student organizations and pledging with about 25 fraternities and sororities. Ramapo also offers many opportunities for students to get hands-on media experience through the school's own television channel, radio station, literary magazine and newspaper. 

Fairleigh Dickinson University: No. 64 in the region. FDU has two campus locations in New Jersey for students to choose from: the suburban Florham Campus in Madison and the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck. The two locations offer different college experiences. Florham emphasizes a liberal arts education and has Division III sports teams; the Metropolitan Campus has a variety of co-op education experiences, competes at the Division I level in athletics and has a large graduate student community. 

William Paterson: No. 102 in the region. William Paterson University of New Jersey is a public institution that was founded in 1855. Its in-state tuition and fees are $12,804 (2017-18); out-of-state tuition and fees are $20,842 (2017-18).

Felician University in Lodi also made the list but was not publicly ranked.
