Wayne Councilman Caught In Vulgar Rant Won't Resign Despite Council Request

WAYNE, N.J. – The Wayne Township Council requested the resignation Wednesday evening of a councilman caught on cellphone video making a vulgar-laden rant to a campaign volunteer.

In a five to one vote, with two abstentions, the council passed a vote of “no confidence” and requested the resignation of Councilman Richard Jasterzbski.

But Jasterzbski said he would not resign.

“I will first start by saying, unequivocally, without question that I will not be resigning from my position. In fact, now more than ever I see why I need to be here fighting for my constituents and the integrity of the political process. This is not to say that I am proud of the allegations against me or the vocabulary that is alleged I used,” Jasterzbski said in a statement, according to NorthJersey.com.

Campaign volunteer Susan Enderly-Peracchio signed a harassment complaint against Jasterzbski, following a the vulgar exchanged caught on a video recorded by her adult daughter. In the video, Jasterzbski confronts Enderly-Peracchio over the removal of signs from the window of the Passaic County Regular Republican Organization headquarters on Hamburg Turnpike.

Jasterzbski cursed nearly three dozen times during the incident, according to a police report.
