The youngster was reaching into the Sol Core machine for a bag of popcorn at the Ice House when his arm got caught in the door, Deputy Fire Chief Ken Kalman told Daily Voice.

Firefighters worked for 45 minutes to calm and free the boy before Sol Core owner Larry Edinger brought the key to the machine.

"The machines are designed so that this doesn't happen," Edinger told Daily Voice.

The tearful child hugged his father -- and got a free bag of popcorn.
