HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Westbound Route 80 was expected to finally reopen mid-morning Friday after an oil tanker and a sedan collided along the Hackensack stretch more than 12 hours earlier.
Two people were hurt, although apparently not seriously after the tanker collided with a Hyundai (pictured at left in photo above) , State Police said. They were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
The trouble for authorities was in the cleanup and off-loading of the tanker to another truck following the 8:30 p.m. crash.
Local roads were clogged with traffic Thursday night through the Friday morning rush.
State and local police, local firefighters and the state's DEP and DOT were among the responders.
