YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 24-year-old Garfield man walking on the tracks was issued a pair of summonses after he was clipped on the hand by a passenger train as he used his cellphone to try and take a photo this afternoon, authorities told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .

Marco Calvo was walking on the tracks with earbuds in near the Essex Street station when he tried to take a photo, NJ Transit’s Nancy Snyder said this afternoon.

“He realized he was too close, stepped out of hte way and was grazed by the train,” Snyder told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .

Calvo refused medical treatment for a cut on his hand, she said.

NJ Transit police charged him with defiant trespassing and interference of transportation.

The Hoboken-bound train, with 76 passengers and crew members aboard, arrived an hour later, Snyder said.
