ONLY ON CVP: A 18-year-old Teaneck man who admitted stealing another teen’s sneakers was sentenced to probation yesterday — but he’s not leaving the Bergen County Jail.
Ramadhan Muhammad, who pleaded guilty to the April 16 theft in Teaneck, is also prohibited from contacting the victim and must repay the cost of the stolen sneakers, as well as fines.
He still faces drug possession and distribution charges following his arrest nine days ago in Hackensack, however.
Superior Court Judge James J. Guida said he considers the 6-foot-1-inch, 142-pound Muhammad a risk to commit another crime, based in part on a juvenile history that includes an assault on a school employee, shoplifting and a hindering charge.
As a result, the judge ordered that Muhammad’s adult probation be supervised.
Meanwhile, he remained held on $25,000 bail in the Hackensack case.
