A car headed south on River Street veered into oncoming traffic and struck another head-on, Capt. Francesco Aquila told Daily Voice.
They struck a third vehicle, then careened onto the lot of a Toyota dealership, where three more cards were struck -- with one of them being pushed into fourth, said Aquila, the department's commanding officer.
No summonses were immediately issued, although an investigation was continued, he said.
"It was just a very bad accident," Aquila said.
Four of the victims sustained minor cuts and bruises, while three elderly victims complained of various pains, he said.
