ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. -- With the advent of hurricane and flood season, Rochelle Park emergency management officials conducted an information session for nearly 100 residents and responders.

Topics included what to do before, during and after a flood, the new FEMA flood plain map and how to obtain elevation certificates.

OEM Director Pete Donatello and other officials also provided information on evacuation procedures and how to receive emergency alerts through Swift Reach and Nixle, emergency notification system messaging and reverse 911.

Wednesday night's event at the senior center on West Passaic Street was sponsored by the township OEM in cooperation with the township committee, police, firefighters, EMS, DPW, Building Department and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
