A tip that drugs were being sold there by Jean C. Carmona, a 25-year-old confirmed member of the Mafia Street Gang, and an associate, Jose Plasencia, an 18-year-old construction worker, led to a warranted raid Thursday of their second-floor Grove Street apartment, Grewal said.

Along with the guns, members of the county prosecutor’s and sheriff’s offices and Ridgefield Park police found a machete, a large knife, hollow-point and .22-caliber ammunition, body armor, marijuana, digital scales and plastic packaging baggies, the prosecutor said.

Arrested with the ex-con Carmona and Plasencia were Anthony Sanchez, Jr., 24, who Grewal is unemployed, and barber James Fattorusso, 29.

All were charged with drug, weapons and child endangerment offenses, the prosecutor said. Carmona also was charged with being a convicted felon (aggravated assault) possessing a firearm.

A judge set bail at $75,000 for Carmona, $35,000 for Plasencia and Sanchez, and $25,000 for Fattorusso.

First appearances for all four were scheduled for Nov. 16 in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
