Prosecutor: Wood-Ridge Avalon Raid Turns Up 1,700 Heroin Bags, Crack, Cash

WOOD-RIDGE, N.J. – Authorities seized 1,700 bags of heroin, nearly three ounces of crack cocaine and drug-packaging materials during a raid on the apartment of a Wood-Ridge man who they said was dealing in the area.

Francisco Caceres, 32, owas being held on $75,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail on various drug charges.

Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said members of his office and both the Hasbrouck Heights and Wood-Ridge police also seized $1,515 during Thursday’s raid at Caceres’s Avalon at Wesmont Station apartment.

All told, they found 34 heroin bricks, 80 grams of crack cocaine and “drug paraphernalia consistent with the distribution of controlled dangerous substances,” along with the cash, Grewal said.

A Nov. 2 arraignment was scheduled.
