Detectives went to the home of Shawn Todd, 46, where they saw him tossing clothing into a trash bin, Detective Sgt. Jim DePreta told Daily Voice.

Todd had been seen wearing the clothing on surveillance video from the break-ins at the repair shop in Rochelle Park and station in Maywood -- both on Passaic Street, DePreta said.

Proceeds included tools and cash from a register.

Police in both towns each charged Todd with burglary and theft.

Given his history, a judge ordered him held in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Todd – whose criminal history stretches back more than 20 years -- was arrested three weeks ago by Maywood police, who said they found him carrying a power drill and copper piping taken from a house under construction.
