HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Port Authority police stopped a Hackensack man who was sexually assaulting a woman at a downtown Manhattan PATH station before dawn Sunday, authorities said.
A guard at the PATH Security Operations Center (SOC) saw what was happening on the Christopher Street station platform via a surveillance camera around 4:45 a.m. and warned Andres Rodriguez, 33, of Prospect Avenue to stop, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.
Port Authority officers came running and grabbed him, Pentangelo said.
The 31-year-old female was taken to a local hospital and was later released after being examined, he said.
