Officer Greg Mulawka pulled the two-door 2000 Mercury Cougar on Essex Street around 1 p.m. because it had no front license plate, Detective Jason Liaban told Daily Voice.

After spotting paraphernalia in plain view, he arrested Todd Malsch and searched the car, Liaban said.

Among the drugs found were heroin bags stamped "8888," he said.

Malsch was released pending a court hearing on various drug charges.
