Main Street cafe damaged in overnight Hackensack fire

OVERNIGHT: A two-alarm fire at a cafe on Main Street in Hackensack was quickly knocked down within a half-hour.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, reported at 2:12 a.m. at the single-story Citrus Café, which sustained “heavy smoke and moderate fire damage,” city Fire Lt. Justin Derevyanik said.

Assisting at the scene were Teaneck (FAST Team) and Englewood firefighters, with mutual aid covering the city from Bogota, Ridgefield Park and South Hackensack.

Also responding were Hackensack Volunteer EMS, Hackensack University Medical Center ALS and city police.

Fire officials were investigating the cause.
