A judge in Hackensack today ordered suspended Cliffside Park Police Officer Jon Lemkin to forfeit his job after convicting him of altering his license plates and installing emergency lights in his own car without proper authorization.
Central Municipal Court Judge Roy McGeady acquitted Lemkin of actually driving with the altered plates. As a result, he also cleared Lemkin of an additional violation of failing to display a valid inspection sticker on his vehicle.
Lemkin contended that he was framed by Detective Capt. Michael Russo because of his friendship with a man whose claims that the captain had an affair with his wife was dismissed by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
