Eric S. Komar, 46, "used a peer-to-peer file-sharing program to obtain and distribute images and videos that including images of prepubescent children being sexually abused," Acting U.S. Attorney William E. Fitzpatrick said.
A federal judge in Newark ordered Komar -- of the Somerset County town of Hillsborough -- held without bail on charges of receiving and distributing child pornography,
Fitzpatrick, meanwhile, asked that anyone with "information regarding possible victims of this activity" contact the FBI in Newark: (973) 792-3000.
Fitzpatrick credited special agents of the FBI's Child Exploitation Task Force, members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, the Hillsborough Township Police Department and New Jersey Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory with the investigation that produced the charges.
Handling the case is Assistant U.S. Attorney Leticia Vandehaar of Fitzpatrick's Criminal Division in Newark.
