Hackensack PD: Neighbor Talks Sex, Grabs Girl, 14, Outside High School

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A 28-year-old man who lives across the street from Hackensack High School grabbed a 14-year-old student after making "sexual comments" to her and a 15-year-old friend as they headed to a wrestling match, authorities told Daily Voice.

The girls were walking up First Street around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when Brandon Pearson "confronted them and began making sexual comments," city Police Director Michael Mordaga said.

"They tried to go around him, but he blocked their path" Mordaga said. "Then he grabbed one of the girls and said he wanted to take her somewhere to have sex."

The girls screamed and ran, while Pearson "took off in the other direction," Mordaga said.

An adult at the high school called police and a report was filed, the director said.

Officers on the lookout Thursday night grabbed the 6-foot, 160-pound Pearson at First Street and Central Avenue -- about five blocks from the scene, Mordaga said. Pearson lives on Beech Street, he said.

He remained held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated sexual contact, trying to entice a child into a structure and child endangerment.
