Marcos Delacruz, a 50-year-old Salvadoran national, was charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and child endangerment.

Hackensack police received the first report on Tuesday that Delacruz “had inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile in Hackensack from 2012 to 2014 when the child was between the ages of 6 and 8 years old,” Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.

A joint investigation by the prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and city police followed, leading to Delacruz’s arrest.

He remained held in the Bergen County Jail following a detention hearing Thursday.
