EXCLUSIVE: An ex-con and an associate were indicted on four counts of attempted murder — one involving a 2-year-old child — in a summer shooting in Teaneck following a chase that began on Route 4.

The target of the shooting told police the July 9 incident began when both men began following him “for an unknown reason” while was he was at the Garden State Plaza earlier in the day, Detective Lt. Andrew McGurr told CLIFFVIEW PILOT at the time.

They then began chasing him on foot from Route 4, leading him to jump into a car occupied by a couple he knows and their young child.

At that point, authorities said, 26-year-old convicted felon Jarrell Stone of Pomona, N.Y., stopped in the middle of the roadway and began firing a stolen .40-caliber Smith & Wesson at the vehicle.

The driver floored it, roaring in reverse up Congress Avenue before the vehicle struck a parked car.

Police called on a report of shots fired found both cars and the occupants near Robinson Street.

Soon after, they found Stone ( above, right ) and 20-year-old Bruce Loo ( left ), also of Pomona, hiding behind a building on Minell Place. Witnesses later identified them, police said.

A few hours later, a local resident reported finding the gun, which seven shell casings found at the shooting scene.

Both Stone and Loo were indicted by a grand jury in Hackensack on charges of attempted murder of, and attempting to cause serious bodily injury to, the three adults and child in the car.

The 13-count indictment also charges them with weapons offenses, hindering apprehension by hiding and possession of stolen property.

Stone, because he is a felon, received an additional charge of “certain persons” prohibited from having a firearm, following his conviction in San Bernadino County, CA.

Both remain held in the Bergen County Jail, Loo on $250,000 bail and Stone on $230,000.
