Children and their families will learn important Halloween safety tips through a variety of demonstrations and tours. They’ll also discover the various functions of the county sheriff’s office.

There will be K9 demonstrations, haunted jail tours, face painting, bicycle races and a costume contest.

Free admission includes food and entertainment, thanks to PBA Local #134, Inserra Supermarkets and Kmart.

“Several of our officers are volunteering their personal time for the festival,” Sheriff Michael Saudino told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “It should be a really great day.”

The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. next Saturday, rain or shine, in the parking lot outside the sheriff’s office at the Bergen County Justice Center, 10 Main Street, Hackensack.
