Bergen, Passaic Schools Swatted Again By Robocalls

Bergen County schools Friday morning received another flood of bomb scare robocalls, prompting evacuations, shelters in place and searches by bomb-sniffing K-9 units from the county sheriff's office.

Among those that received swatting calls were schools in Cliffside Park, Englewood, Fort Lee, Hackensack, Mahwah, Oradell, Paramus, Ramsey, Teaneck and Waldwick in Bergen County, as well as Haledon and Little Falls in Passaic County.

"It's Friday and here we go again," the sheriff's Anthony Cureton told Daily Voice. "They keep burdening police services and disrupting childrens' educations."

"People don't realize how simple it is to set up a robocall," a North Jersey tactical officer told Daily Voice last week. "They think it's some kind of sophisticated network of guys, when it really only takes some kid who knows what he's doing a few minutes."

Cliffside Park spread students from the evacuated high school to a local firehouse, the local senior citizens complex and the Borough Council chambers.
