HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Veronica E. Garaventa, of Hackensack, died on Friday, Jan. 6. She was 94.

Before she retired, Garaventa was the administrator of the benefits department for ExxonMobil Oil Company of New York. She was a parishioner at Holy Trinity Church of Hackensack, where she was a member of the Rosary Society, and she was a volunteer at the school library.

She also volunteered at the Maywood Library and the St. Francis School tuition department of Hackensack. She was a member of the Columbiettes of Trinity Council No. 747 of Hackensack and the Older is Better program at Felician College of Lodi.

Garaventa is survived by her siblings, Louise Fuller and George Garaventa. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Johanna Rottkamp Garaventa, and her sibling, Frances Lorfink.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Service, 397 Union St., in Hackensack. There will be a 10 a.m. mass on Thursday at Holy Trinity Church, 34 Maple Ave., in Hackensack, followed by burial at Holy Name Cemetery, in Jersey City.
