HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Salvatore Iurato, of Hackensack, died on Thursday, Oct. 13. He was 90.

A U.S. Army veteran, Iurato worked for the Hackensack Water Company and as a Fred Astaire dance instructor using his professional name, Jim Kent, for over 30 years.

After he retired, he co-owned the Churchtown Inn Bed & Breakfast in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Valley Singers and the Stuart W. Smith Singers.

Iurato was predeceased by his sister, Providence Cunningham.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Santangelo Funeral Home, 300 Main St., in Lodi. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, with a 10 a.m. chapel service. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park, in Paramus.
