John 'Jack' Logan, 90, Longtime Maywood Resident

MAYWOOD, N.J. -- John "Jack" Harold Logan, of Loveladies, died on Feb 5. He was 90.

Born in Massachusetts, Logan graduated from St. Cecilia's High School in Englewood -- "where he was coached by the great Vince Lombardi," information from the funeral home noted. 

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He then attended Seton Hall University on the GI Bill, and he worked at W.T. Grant and Lane Bryant as a purchasing agent. 

Logan raised his family in Maywood, and he "was a devoted fan of the Hackensack High School Athletics," the funeral home added. "Go Comets!" 

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Gloria (Melchiorre) Logan; children Jacqueline Vest and her husband Charles, Janet LaRose and her husband Gerald, Jeffrey and his wife Jerina, Jerome and his wife Yolanda, John and his wife Robyn, and Jeanne Dalie and her husband Thomas; 24 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Logan was preceded by his parents, John and Frances (Smith) Logan. 

A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, at the Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 400 Maywood Ave., in Maywood. Trinka-Faustini Funeral Service, in Maywood, is assisting with arrangements.
