MAYWOOD, N.J. — Lifelong Maywood resident Jean L. Desmond (Cloughley) died Tuesday, May 3. She was 61.
Desmond worked the past 17 years as a teacher's aide for children with special needs and autism at the South Bergen Jointure Commission in East Rutherford.
She is survived by mother, Elizabeth; husband, Tim; daughters Patty Desmond and Allison Dooley and her husband Damien; grandchildren Kayleigh and Lianna; and her father Luke Romeo. Desmond also is survived by brother, Robert Cloughley; sisters, Janet Obliski and her husband Dave, and Alice Brinkerhoff and her husband Bill; friend, brother and caregiver, Frank; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Robert Cloughley.
By Desmond's request, in lieu of flowers, perform an act of kindness.
Memorial visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Trinka-Faustini Funeral Service, 439 Maywood Ave., Maywood. The family requests those coming to greet them dress casually.
