HACKENSACK, N.J. -- James Allen Klaassen, Hackensack resident, died Friday, Sept.18, after long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was 65.
He was born in Grand Rapids, Mich. and moved to New Jersey in 1972. Klaassen was a partner in his own business, J.R. Displays.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy (Eelman); his children, Todd, Janelle Peters; son-in-Law, Stephen; grandchildren, Avery, Adam, Aaron Peters; brothers Robert and his wife Sheila, Raymond and his wife Barb, Thomas and his wife Nancy; sister-In law, Jan Muzikowski and Susan; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
He served in several capacities at Living Word Reformed Church, North Haledon, most recently as a deacon.
A memorial service was conducted Sunday, Sept. 27 at Living Word Reformed Church, 21 Pleasant View Drive, North Haledon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Deacon Aid Fund at Living Word Reformed Church.
