Giambattista 'John' Buldo, 85, South Hackensack Resident

SOUTH HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Giambattista "John" Buldo, of South Hackensack, died on Monday, Feb. 6. He was 85.

Born in Pescopagano, Italy, Buldo lived there for 26 years, before going to Argentina for 20 years and then immigrating to the United States in 1977. He lived in Ridgefield for 21 years and South Hackensack for the past 18 years. 

He was a veteran of the Italian Army, and he was a mason. He owned John Buldo and Sons, in Ridgefield, for 40 years, retiring in 1996. 

Buldo is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carmela (Gallo); children Teresa Natale and her husband Franco, Claude Buldo, and Joseph Buldo and his wife Debbie; and grandchildren Alessandra, Illiana, John Tyler, Christopher, Giovanni and Angelina -- and one more on the way.

He was predeceased by four brothers and five sisters. 

Visitation will be from 5 -9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., in Garfield. The funeral is on Friday and will arrive at the funeral home at 10 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, in Garfield. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Saddle Brook.
