HACKENSACK, N.J. – George Tsamas, a resident of Hackensack, died Sunday, July 24. He was 96.
He was born in Silivria, Turkey, to the late Vasiliki and Dimitrios Tsama, moved to Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1922, and then to the United States in 1970.
Before retiring, he was a machinist for Triangle Manufacturing in Upper Saddle River.
He is survived by his wife, Tina; son Anthony Tsamas and his wife Beatrix; siblings Anthony and Elni; and granddaughter Kelly.
He was predeceased by a sibling, Aristoklis.
Visitation will be Friday, July 29, from 7-9 p.m. at Costa Memorial Home, Boulevard and Central Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights. Trisagion service will be at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 30, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 51 Paramus Road, Paramus. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Park Cemetery, Hackensack.
