An Army veteran of World War II, Cermatori worked for Maywood's Department of Public Works as a parks attendant before he retired. He was also a journeyman, darkroom technician and supervisor for ALCO Gravure in Hoboken for over 40 years.
He was a member of the Rochelle Park American Legion Post 170 and a past member of the Paramus Elks, the Maywood VFW and Maywood American Legion Post 142.
Cermatori is survived by his wife of 69 years, Antoinette; children Francis Cermatori Jr. and his wife Janice, Paul Cermatori and his wife Maria, Stephanie Biasi and her husband Donald; son-in-law Brooks Connor; grandchildren Gina, Joseph, Francis, Scott, Michael, Nicole and Sara; and great-grandchildren Gianna, Lorenzo, Luciano and Leonardo.
He was preceded by his daughter, Barbara Connor.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday morning, Feb. 14, at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, in North Arlington.
