Connie Hawthorne, 96, Of Maywood

MAYWOOD, N.J. – Connie Hawthorne, a resident of Maywood, died Thursday, March 3. She was 96.

She is formerly of Passaic. Before retiring, she worked 30 years for the city of Passaic Code Enforcement Department as an administrative assistant. She was the past president of the Ladies UNICO and a longtime member of the Geraci League in Passaic. She was a member of the Friendship Club of Passaic and was a Eucharistic minister at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Passaic, as well as St. Maximilian Roman Catholic Church in Toms River.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Meola; her grandchildren, Lisa Veit and her husband, Kenneth; Lori Centeno and her husband, Anthony; Christine Frankovic and her husband, Kyle; her great-grandchildren, Antonio, Isabella, Nathaniel, Carolyn and Sophia.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Ezzo; her second husband, William Hawthorne; and a son-in-law, Edward.
