Claudia Cooper, 71, of Emerson

EMERSON, N.J. – Claudia Ann Cooper of Emerson passed away on Nov. 5. She was 71 years old.

“Claudia was happiest when she was giving back to her community, passionately defending those without a voice, and being a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother,” her obituary states.

She devoted herself to numerous charities, was a teaching assistant and advocate for autistic children and developmentally disabled adults, and started her own Facebook charity group to assist mothers and children in Bergen County.

Claudia was well-known at Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest, where she assisted her husband with band contests, concerts, and yearly musical productions.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Evan Cooper, her daughter, Racquel Cooper of Brooklyn, her son, Trevor Cooper and his wife Kasey, grandchildren Brianna, Amara, Trevor, and Ivy of Corpus Christi, Texas, her mother, Madonna Wise, brother Randall Larsen and his wife Tonya of Round Rock, Texas, and nieces JoLana and Dana, of Austin, Texas.

A ceremony to honor Claudia’s life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Estate at Florentine Gardens in River Vale.

A second ceremony will be held in Round Rock, Texas on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. at Provident Crossing.
