HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Ausberto Torres, Sr., died on Feb 28. He was 79.
Torres was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico and moved his family to New York City where he resided for two decades before retiring in Hackensack, New Jersey. He was devoted as a teacher for many years working tirelessly and inspiring many thousands of students over decades in the New York City Public School system.
Torres is survived by his devoted wife Norah (Bilbraut) of 53 years. He was the loving father of son, Ausberto Torres, Jr.; daughter, Ada Lil Torres-Wright and her husband Andrew; son, Alexis Torres; and son, Mariano Torres. Ausberto is also survived by his four adored grandchildren Jacob, Madeline, Sophia and Philip. He is also survived by his sister, Carmen Rivera and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, at Trinka-Faustini Funeral Home, located at 439 Maywood Avenue, Maywood, New Jersey.
