Jerry Barta was a among the hundreds of people from around the world coming together for the 17th annual Wheels of Love for ALYN Hospital, Israel’s premier pediatric and adolescent rehabilitation facility.

"Challenging as the rides are, it's 'easy spinning' compared to the difficulties ALYN children face every day,” said Barta, the vice president and director of leasing and marketing for Hackensack's Alfred Sanzari Enterprises.

The ride traversed cyclists through Israel’s Judean desert and ended with a closing ceremony at ALYN Hospital.

“They are truly remarkable children, from birth to young adulthood, from every ethnic and religious origin, bravely trying to meet the challenges of living with physical disabilities resulting from either congenital conditions or acquired illnesses and traumas," Barta said.

"They come to ALYN for its cutting-edge technique and expertly skilled doctors, nurses and therapists, and dedicated lay personnel, who combine talent and passion to empower each child to achieve his/her highest level of independence and mobility.”
