Web design can be incredibly complicated, but starting is simple. People who know what folders and text files are can begin to learn web design.

Skills build from there. “A website is primarily made of HTML and CSS code,’’ Ocasio said. “You’ll learn from the ground up, how to use both languages and how to use them correctly and effectively.”

Web Design Learning Center of NJ students learn in hands-on setting that teach basics. At the end of the first class, students will have created a website from scratch using images, smart layouts, CSS styles and navigational menus.

Over the course of the program, students will learn editing, and working with images, color and content.

Web Design Learning Center of New Jersey offers six courses in its certificate web design program, which can be taken individually or collectively. The six-course program costs $3,600 if all of the units are taken collectively, a 27 percent savings from the cost if they are taken individually.

“Not only will you be well-equipped to take your coding abilities to the next level, but you will also be able to transform your website for increased responsiveness,’’ Ocasio said.
