HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Hackensack's Johnson Public Library is hosting a still-life drawing class inspired by Frida Kahlo on Wednesday, May 4.

In this session, you'll earn about the artist Frida Kahlo and her artwork, then create your own still-life drawing, based on her style. You'll use lines, shapes and angles to help complete your drawing, and learn how to use watercolor pencils to color in the drawing.

Barbara Freiberg, who has a BA in studio art, will lead the class. For more information on Kahlo, check out this website.

Registration is required: do so by contacting Barb at 201-343-4169, ext. 19, or schuit@hackensack.bccls.org. Preference is given to Hackensack residents; others will be put on a waiting list.

The class will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

The library is located at 274 Main St., in Hackensack. To keep up with library events, visit its website, or follow it on Facebook or Twitter.
