The tradition is a holiday hallmark of the 100-year-old Boys Scout Troop 5 in Hackensack.

The pancake breakfast with its special guest is also a chance for community residents to purchase their holiday wreath and say hello to members of Troop 5.

It is the oldest, continuously sponsored Catholic Boy Scout troop in New Jersey, according to Scoutmaster Jean-Pierre Mascetti. The 100th anniversary was in 2015.

The Boys Scouts will sell wreaths at the breakfast, which is from 7:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. at 43 Maple Ave., Hackensack. The breakfast is $5 per person.
